Champaign man pleads guilty to possessing counterfeit bills

URBANA – A Champaign man who admitted having counterfeit cash in his home faces 15 to 21 months in prison when he is sentenced later this year.

Lavell D. Joiner, 24, who also goes by Joyner, and last lived in the 2500 block of West Springfield Avenue, pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Urbana to possession of counterfeit United States currency.
