UI names Chicago campus chancellor with ties to Urbana
CHICAGO – University of Illinois trustees today approved a number of top appointments, including a new chancellor for the Chicago campus who has strong Urbana ties.
Paula Meares, dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan since 1993, will assume the chancellor's job Jan. 15 at a salary of $375,000 a year. Before that she was a professor and dean of the School of Social Work at the UI’s Urbana-Champaign campus.
