State provides area with flood assistance
SPRINGFIELD – The state is pitching in to help East Central Illinois communities deal with rising floodwaters caused by Monday's intense rainstorms.
"I've directed the Illinois Emergency Management Agency to work closely with local officials to make sure they get whatever assistance necessary to protect people in the area until this flood threat has passed," Gov. Rod Blagojevich stated in a written release.
