2 plead innocent to burglary charges
URBANA – Two men pleaded innocent Thursday in connection with the armed burglary of an Urbana home.
According to an Urbana police report, two men with a firearm forced their way into a home in the 1100 block of North Goodwin Avenue, U., at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, damaging a frame door, a screen door and a doorjamb.
Police say they took an Emerson flat-screen television set. Police arrested Perry Ellis Hampton, 22, who listed an address in the 100 block of West Roper Street, Champaign, and Vishan Martez Johnson, 23, who listed an address in the 1100 block of West Eads Street, Urbana, and took them to the Champaign County Jail, the report said.
On Thursday, Hampton and Johnson pleaded innocent to charges of felony residential burglary and felony armed violence.
Judge John Kennedy set bond at $150,000 for Hampton and $100,000 for Johnson and scheduled their next court date for Dec. 15.
