PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 1st day of October, 2009, the Commissioners of Fountain Head Drainage District, and the above Sub-Districts, filed a Petition with the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Champaign County, Illinois requesting authority to levy new annual maintenance assessments against those lands within the District and Sub-Districts, in order to pay for the cost of upgrading District and Sub-District facilities, the cost of recurring maintenance, and, for the payment of recurring administrative expenses. In particular, said Petition requests that the assessments for the District and Sub-Districts and the boundaries for the Sub-Districts be amended to reflect changing watersheds and land usage. The District and the Sub-Districts presently have existing assessments as to the properties within their boundaries and the same have been assessed each year since the establishment of said assessments in 1994. Landowners may determine their existing charge by examining their property tax statements on which the District and Sub-Districts assessments appear. The assessments are paid as part of the public charge submitted on the county property tax statements. As a result of the passing time, assessments for certain properties and the boundaries for the Sub-Districts require amending as a result of changing land usages. The Petitioner requests that these changes be made, in order to establish that the District’s and Sub-District’s assessments are set appropriately.
