Description:

Funks Grove Stewardship Work Days Saturdays, July 11 and 25, 8 to 10 a.m. Join Don Schmidt, the "Dean of Green" on WGLT, and his group of faithful volunteers in a variety of stewardship activities every other Saturday throughout the year. Stewards of all ages can join the group on a regular basis or stop out on occasion to assist with exotic species removal, prairie seed collection, and other projects necessary to help preserve the native flora of Funks Grove. Stewardship Work Days provide an excellent opportunity to meet others who believe in the importance of being stewards of the environment. They also provide a great volunteer opportunity for Master Naturalists needing to fulfill volunteer requirements as well as scouts and other groups wishing to complete community service projects. Individuals and families are also encouraged to participate. Stewardship Work Days are free and no registration is required. Stewards meet in the Sugar Grove Nature Center parking lot.
