Features work by faculty of the Parkland College's Fine and Applied Art faculty in Art and Design. Media include sculpture, photography, metals, wood, oil, watercolor, digital media, ceramics and more. Monday, Aug. 18-Thursday, Sept. 18, Parkland Art Gallery. Closed for Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1. Artist Reception: Thursday, Aug. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m., gallery lounge with live music by Stoncrik. The artists' reception, hosted by the Parkland College Foundation, will be Thursday, Aug. 21. View the work and mingle with the artists. Matthew Watt will speak about his work in the exhibit at 7 p.m. Live music by Stoncrik and refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public. This exhibition features works by approximately 20 studio art and design faculty. Among the faculty participating are Louis Ballard, Chris Berti, Lisa Costello, Marsha Daniels, Jennifer Davis, Shane Harris, John Havlik, Steven Hudson, Jamie Kruidenier, Robert Laible, Gina Manola, Miriam Martincic, Melinda McIntosh, Craig McMonigal, Laura O'Donnell, Denise Seif, Peggy Shaw, Phil Smith, Joan Stolz, Matthew Watt, Kelly White and Paul Young. High Noon with the Artist at noon Thursdays in the gallery. A series of art lectures designed to allow faculty from selected areas to discuss their work more in-depth. Paul Young, Graphic Design Professor, will speak about his work on Sept. 4. Jamie Kruidenier, part-time Instructor of watercolor, will give a lecture about her work on Sept. 18. To find the gallery when classes are in session, use the M6 parking lot on the north corner of the campus. Enter any door and follow the ramps up hill to the highest point of the first floor, where the gallery is located.
