Forge those slow-paced days of summer, school's back in session and high school football starts tonight.
Look to Saturday's News-Gazette Sports section for game stories, photos and results of area high school football games. It's not only football, we've got the rest of the prep sports covered as well in our Sports section, and you can find schedules, stats and photo galleries on our Web site.
Watch for our college football preview section coming Thursday, Sept. 3. The Illini football team opens Sept. 5 against Missouri, and we'll have stories leading up to the opener in our Sports section and on IlliniHQ.com.
We've got some good coverage coming in areas other than sports this weekend as well.
Ever wonder what pervious concrete is? Christine des Garennes will tell you in Saturday's paper, as well as why they're installing it in Carle Park.
Tom Kacich writes about more local people who are interested in being appointed to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees.
In Sunday's paper, we'll have coverage of the dedication of the tower-clock at the Champaign County Courthouse, including photos from inside tower by Heather Coit.
Pat Phillips reports on the latest trends in eye wear for women.
And Don Dodson reports on the apartment vacancy rate in C-U, particularly on campus.
